AirMed International

AirMed International operates its own fleet of air ambulance aircraft rather than brokering flights through third-party charter operators, which is a meaningful operational difference from some evacuation memberships that coordinate transport without owning the planes doing the flying. The AirMed Traveler membership covers transport once a member is hospitalized more than 150 miles from home and medically stable enough to move, to a hospital of the member's own choosing, with traveling companions able to come along when space and patient care allow.
Service covers essentially every country except a short list under specific restriction, and membership is limited to two separate flights per year under standard terms. This is a prepaid transport membership, not insurance, and doesn't cover medical treatment costs themselves, so it works as a companion to a travel medical policy rather than a substitute for one. Worth flagging clearly: AirMed International is a separate company from the similarly named MedjetAssist, despite AirMed's own history briefly operating under the name MEDjet International decades ago.
