What International Medical Group is
International Medical Group, known as IMG, develops, sells and administers travel medical, international health and trip protection plans, while named insurers carry the risk. The site names different underwriters for different lines. Its FAQ says "IMG's international plans are underwritten by Sirius International Insurance Corporation, a Swedish insurance company." For trip protection, the disclosures say that some iTravelInsured Lite, SE, LX and GT plans, and all iTravelInsured Choice and Essential plans, are "underwritten by SiriusPoint America Insurance Company under form series SA-ITI-19-1000 et. al.," which the page says "is rated A- (Excellent) by AM Best 2023." Other iTravelInsured Lite, SE, LX and GT plans are "underwritten by United States Fire Insurance Company," which IMG markets "on behalf of USF." The plan document a buyer gets "will depend on your state of residence."
The Our Story page says "Since 1990" the company has served travelers, lists "190+ countries where members are served," "18 languages spoken in-house" and "580 employees & growing," and states it is "Headquartered in the United States" with "Call centers in the U.S. and UK." The media coverage page carries a February 13, 2026 item saying "SiriusPoint announced that its wholly owned subsidiary, International Medical Group (IMG), will acquire World Nomads." The disclosures give IMG's address as 9200 Keystone Crossing, Indianapolis.
Patriot travel medical plans
The Patriot Travel Series page describes plans for "individuals, families, and groups who need temporary medical insurance while traveling for business or pleasure anywhere outside of their home country." It sets out a comparison table. For travel that includes the U.S., Patriot Lite America and Patriot Plus America carry a maximum limit "Up to $1,000,000," deductibles of "$0 to $2,500," extensions to "24 months" and emergency medical evacuation of $1,000,000. Patriot Platinum America goes "Up to $8,000,000," with deductibles of "$0 to $25,000," extensions to "36 months" and evacuation "Up to maximum limit." In-network coinsurance is 100% on all three; out of network it is "80% up to $5,000 - then 100%" on Lite and Plus and "90% up to $5,000 - then 100%" on Platinum.
For travel outside the U.S., Patriot Lite International and Patriot Platinum International carry the same maximums, deductibles and extension periods, pay "100% up to the maximum limit," and include "Incidental Emergency in the U.S." for "Up to 2 weeks." The table lists COVID-19 coverage "Up to policy maximum if contracted and treatment is provided after the policy effective date," along with acute onset of pre-existing conditions. The FAQ narrows that last benefit: Patriot America Plus, Patriot America Platinum, Patriot International and Visitors Care "cover acute onset of pre-existing conditions, but they are only covered prior to age 70." Every Patriot plan includes physician visits, urgent care, emergency room and intensive care, local ambulance, natural disaster evacuation, return of mortal remains, return of minor children, AD&D, dental treatment, an emergency eye exam, lost luggage, identity theft, pet return and prescription medication.
iTravelInsured trip protection
The iTravelInsured Travel Series has three tiers, Lite, SE and LX. Trip cancellation is "Up to 100% of non-refundable trip cost" on each. Trip interruption is "Up to 125%" on Lite and "Up to 150%" on SE and LX. Trip delay pays "$125 per day per person ($500 max per person)" on Lite, "$125 per day per person ($2,000 max per person)" on SE and "Up to $250 per day per person ($2,500 max per person)" on LX. Baggage and personal effects run $750, $1,500 and $2,500, each with "$250 max per item," and baggage delay is up to $150, $250 and $500. Medical evacuation and repatriation of remains is "Up to $500,000 per person" on Lite and SE and "Up to $1,000,000 per person" on LX. Optional Cancel for Any Reason and Trip Interruption for Any Reason upgrades pay "Up to 75% of the non-refundable insured trip-cost." The disclosures state these coverages carry "an exclusion for pre-existing medical conditions," and that Teladoc is included only on iTravelInsured Choice, SE and LX.
Other lines and services
Global Medical Silver, Gold and Platinum are IMG's annually renewable international health plans for expats. The FAQ says a U.S. citizen is eligible for Global Medical "if you reside outside of the U.S. or have a good faith intent to reside outside of the U.S. for six months or more in a calendar year," and that the plan "does not meet the definition of "minimum essential coverage" under PPACA." The expat page lists emergency evacuation, emergency reunion, preventive care, maternity benefits, pre-existing conditions and political evacuation among its key benefits. The visitor page says "Visitor insurance is not required to travel to the U.S. on a B-2 visa, but it's highly recommended." The travel medical page says "Schengen countries require visa applicants to prove they have travel medical insurance to cover expenses for repatriation, urgent medical attention, emergency hospital treatment, and more." IMG also sells Global Rescue memberships, which the assistance page says "provide supplemental non-insurance evacuation and rescue services" and are available "regardless of where you live."
Buying and claims
Quotes and applications run online, and the Patriot page lists a sales line at 866-263-0669. The FAQ says "all new claims should be submitted online using MyIMG," and that paper claim forms are used only when IMG directs it. "Complete Proof of Claim must be received by IMG prior to making any benefit determinations." Some treatment needs precertification: the FAQ says a hospital admission can be notified through an online precertification form or by calling the number on the back of the ID card. A buyer who disagrees with a decision can appeal on MyIMG or in writing, and the FAQ asks for the appeal "within 90 days of the original claims determination." Medical appeals go to a PO Box in Apple Valley, Minnesota, and iTravelInsured appeals to a separate box in the same town. The site shows a "Top Rated 4.6/5 Star Company" badge.
Who it suits
IMG suits travelers who want to pick a medical maximum and deductible from a published range, from U.S. residents going abroad to foreign visitors coming to the U.S. and expats needing annual cover. Patriot Platinum carries the higher limit, the wider deductible range and the longer extension period. For travelers aged 70 or older, the FAQ ends acute-onset pre-existing cover on the Patriot plans it names, and iTravelInsured buyers face a stated pre-existing condition exclusion.
